To transform the tired looking roof terrace into a welcoming, vibrant space by removing existing planting, renovating existing planters, and installing a creative, lush planting scheme.
As the property already had an existing roof garden we had some work to do to in repairing timber raised beds that had suffered due to the elements. We developed an eclectic planting scheme of mixed beds incorporating Dicksonia Antarctica tree ferns, Polystichum, Carex grasses, Trachelospernum, Pittosporum and Lonicera.
We also had to reinstall the irrigation system.
This was especially important as the Dicksonia tree ferns installed do not have a normal root system, and instead rely on water getting to their crown, so we installed special sprinklers into the irrigation system to ensure they would thrive. We were asked to minimize time on site as the restaurant urgently needed the space for diners and the entire project, including all waste removal, repairs, and replanting, was completed in 2 days.
