We’re a family business, established in 1977 by current CEO Tim Dallow and his brother, Dick. Since then Plant Plan we've progressed from a humble greenhouse in a back garden to a being a nationwide company with bases and staff all over the UK.
Right from the start Plant Plan has been all about quality and going the extra mile for the customer. This dedication to doing a great job has seen us become the preferred supplier for household name companies and driven the success that has seen us grow from small local firm to a nationwide, well-known planting specialist.
From the small team of two brothers there’s now over 80 people in the Plant Plan family. The company is continuing to grow, adapt to the changes in the industry, and meet the new demands and requirements put on it by the customers. It’s a journey we’ve been on for almost 50 years, and we’ve only just started!
First and foremost, here’s what we do. We create spaces that people love to be in. Whether that is a multi-floor office building in central London, an amazing hotel in the Peak District, or a restaurant foodie-heaven in Birmingham we believe that planting is incredibly effective in transforming spaces from being mundane to being marvellous! .
We obsess about the best ways to use planting in all its various forms within commercial spaces, and we’re always looking for new, better ways to work – whether that’s implementing a new system, creating new ways of installing breathtaking planting schemes through to finding a better way to care for plants on a customer’s premises. And all of this is to help achieve the same result – amazing planting, amazing spaces.
As per our fifth value “Care for your Colleagues, Customers, and Community” we are passionate about giving back, about creating a better future, about looking beyond our own lives and doing all we can to help others. We’re incredibly lucky to be in a position to help others, and we believe this is a privilege we cannot turn down
And so we give 10% of our profits to charitable organisations that support deserving causes both close to home and all over the world. From helping global organisations that are trying to preserve our incredible planet to supporting grass-roots charities that help the most vulnerable living on the streets of Leicester we get involved. We have one charity, the Grace Trust, that holds a special place in our hearts – it’s was started by our founders father and aunt, and it’s still very much operating today.
As a company we are committed to the ongoing development and progression of all those that want to within our team. We’re immensely grateful for all those that choose to help us on our journey, and we want everyone to have the opportunity to achieve their goals here.
We invest a significant amount of money each year into training and development programmes and courses, from giving staff professional Customer Service training through to supporting our team gain accreditations such as Prince 2 and LEAN belts.
We also continue to develop what we believe is an industry-leading training course for our Maintenance Technicians including both classroom and on-the-job training, and professional accreditations such as PA1 and PA6 and IPAF.
