Zoom’s London Engagement Hub, located in Holborn, supports hybrid working models, offering a state-of-the-art, flexible environment. The 15,000 sq ft space accommodates various work zones and fosters a sense of community among UK employees, aligning with Zoom’s global workplace strategy.
Zoom sought a planting design that would enhance collaboration spaces, create visual impact, and promote a connection to nature. The brief included both internal and external planting elements, with a focus on sustainability and maintaining an engaging environment for team collaboration and individual work.
We implemented an array of planting features, including internal floor-standing planters filled with Strelitzia, Monstera, and Zamioculcas, complemented by trailing plants like Scindapsus on metal gridwork structures. For the high-level areas, we used a mix of Asplenium, Tradescantia, and Chlorophytum to add lush greenery across multiple zones. The external troughs featured hardy species such as Chamaerops, Lavender, and Rosemary, while climbing installations utilised Trachylespernum for visual height and continuity.
The planting scheme transformed the engagement hub into a dynamic, green space, encouraging collaboration and offering a refreshing contrast to the digital workspace. The use of automated maintenance systems ensured sustainability and ease of upkeep, supporting the hub's goal of providing a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. The planting contributed significantly to Zoom's vision of a modern and eco-friendly work environment.
