The Gate London, an independent aparthotel located in East London, sought to incorporate biophilic design into its rooftop terraces and communal areas to enhance its connection to nature and create an inviting, relaxing environment for guests.
The Gate London requested a mix of live and preserved planting to create a natural, yet low-maintenance environment. The project focused on the 19th-floor outdoor terrace and various indoor spaces, including the reception and bar areas. The planting had to complement the luxury design of the aparthotel, while maintaining a high-quality aesthetic that required minimal upkeep.
We installed hanging preserved plants such as Ivy and Eucalyptus in the reception and bar areas to bring greenery into the indoor spaces. For the 19th-floor terrace, we planted Olive Trees and Festuca Blue Grass, offering a serene outdoor experience. In other trough planters, we integrated Photinia Hedging, Phormium, Carex, Festuca, and Bamboo, creating vibrant yet low-maintenance green areas.
The project successfully transformed The Gate London’s spaces into lush, welcoming environments. The rooftop terrace became a standout feature, enhancing the guest experience with a mix of carefully curated live plants. The preserved planting indoors provided an elegant, long-lasting green element without the need for constant care, aligning with the aparthotel’s high standards of luxury and convenience.
