Sytner commissioned Plant Plan to install a living wall within the customer waiting area of their new Leicester showroom. Set within a highly contemporary interior, the idea was to soften the look and feel of the waiting area and make it feel less sterile.

Sytner Group is the UK’s leading retailer of prestige cars, and the largest overall automotive retailer in Europe. This Audi dealership is a flagship showroom for the brand, and was the first of its type to be rolled out.

Scope of Project
We installed a large-scale living wall installation measuring 5m by 2.5m, complete with its own irrigation and drainage system. The plants selected were chosen in close collaboration with the client, to achieve the desired look while ensuring the species would thrive in the environment, which features a lot of glazing. The decision to install a living wall was taken at a late stage in the construction project, and therefore we had to work around existing structures and trades for the installation, including the last-minute installation of the irrigation and drainage feeds. The time frame was also extremely tight for getting the wall units themselves on site and installed ready for opening. The result is a vibrant, living feature than brings a welcome natural flourish to this very urban setting.
