We’ve worked with this Sheffield hotel for many years, and when they decided that they wanted to give their outdoor eating area a facelift we were only too happy to help.
Divided into 2 zones we came up with a planting scheme that would give them continuity throughout the scheme yet successfully divide between the more private eating area with its tables and chairs, and the more public space backing onto the city’s famous Winter Gardens.
By separating the dining area off with a screen of barrier trough planters we could ensure that the hotels customers could sit their undisturbed. At the same time to make the zone more attractive we also fitted a living wall and completely replanted an external bed in this area.
The large planters in the public area were quite a challenge. Having to remain in place due to their hiding unsightly vents, we arranged for them to be re-finished and then planted them with large specimen Olive trees.
In its completed state the area has been a huge success. Successfully providing the hotel with a private, secluded eating area and at the same time enhancing the public space next to the Winter Garden the planting scheme has worked incredibly well.
