3 great plants to reduce stress
Stress is unavoidable in any workplace. However, the presence of plants helps lessen the effects of that stress. Studies have shown that the presence of plants mitigates stress-related conditions such as anxiety, depression, fatigue, and hostility. This could be due to the fact that plants make the workplace appear more calm and serene. The reduction of stress then contributes to an increase in the health of employees, which leads to higher productivity levels in the workplace. Here are our 3 favourite plants to help combat stress:
- Peace Lillies – the name alone is enough to make you want one, but once you’ve seen one, you won’t be able to help yourself. Peace Lillies reduce the toxins in the air and will add a wonderful bit of beauty wherever you place them. They are a very low maintenance plant and need to be kept in cooler temperatures, just make sure that you keep them well watered to avoid them drooping.
- Anthuriums – brighten up the winter months with these constantly blooming plants. The bright flowers are enough to chase any blues away. Very easy to care for, put them on a well-lit windowsill and they’ll be away!
- Crotons – Crotons add a colourful touch to your space, their multicoloured leaves really help brighten things up. Again these easy to care for plants will mean you get an extra boost just being able to keep them alive, all you have to do is make sure they have plenty of water to stop them wilting.
